Collection: Pyromorphite
Pyromorphite belongs to a mineral species consisting of lead chlorophosphate, occasionally occurring in quantities substantial enough to be extracted as a lead ore. Crystals are prevalent, adopting a hexagonal prism structure terminated by basal planes, occasionally complemented by narrow faces of a hexagonal pyramid.
It is not uncommon to encounter crystals with a barrel-like curvature, and the mineral can also present itself in globular and reniform masses. The coloration of pyromorphite typically ranges from vibrant shades of green, yellow, to brown, with a resinous luster.
