Collection: Wavellite

Wavellite, characterized as an aluminum basic phosphate mineral, is seldom found in distinct crystal formations. Typically, it presents itself as translucent green radial or spherical clusters.

This mineral is commonly associated with crandallite and variscite, particularly in fractures within aluminous metamorphic rock, hydrothermal regions, and phosphate rock deposits. Noteworthy occurrences include the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas, specifically Mount Ida.
