In Celebration of the one year anniversary of the Ice Cream Igloo Pocket and "The Beast" being presented at the New Mexico Mineral Syposium in November of 2023, we are offering the last of our stock. This is an opportunity to own an amazing piece of US fluorite and mineralogical history. Discovered in March 2023, the Ice Cream Igloo Pocket is considered a significant fluorite find, and is important to New Mexico mineralogical history. The Crystalary along with it’s fluorite loving community funded the extraction making recovery of the largest specimen, known as The Beast, possible for miners,Two Guys One Hole (Michael Eggleton and Bradley Culebro) in July of 2023. This find is significant to New Mexico Mineralogy not only due to the size spanning 5 feet across, but also for its homo epitaxy growth unique to the locality, and thought to have been lost to a fire that occured at the New Mexico Mineral Museum in the 1920s. This pocket produced a number of superb large to very large primarily fluorite and quartz museum specimens, some with associated galena. The seafoam green and purple fluorite is a stunning color combination, making an excellent addition to any collection. Grab one while you can, these are our last pieces. The pocket was back filled at the time of the recovery of The Beast in July 2023. This particular specimen is very aesthetic displaying a great luster with touches of quartz dancing across the surface.
